GangWars: Multi-Chain Tournament
GangstaVerse introduces GangWars: Multi-Chain Tournament — the first-ever tournament across ICON and BASE blockchain- an amazing feat that ICON’s Cross-chain Framework (xCall) made possible. The Multi-Chain Tournament is based on GangWars (currently live on both the BASE and ICON blockchains). In the GangWars: Multi-Chain Tournament, players can join from different chains and compete with each other for the same prize pool.
This article covers the Prize pool and different stages of the tournament: Registration, Team selection, Group Stage, and Bracket Stage.
Prize pool
The base prize pool from the treasury starts at $3000 and can go up to $7000 (more prize rewards get unlocked with more people joining in).
The Prize pool for the Tournament will start from $3000 and with each player milestone reached $500 will be added to this prize pool from the treasury.
Note: 50% of all the entry fees will also be added to the total prize pool.
Registration
The tournament starts with the Registration phase where players can register from ICON or BASE. The registration fee will be $3. Players can also join using Tournament passes that they can get by participating in different ongoing campaigns.
Note: Players do not need to pay an entry fee if they join using their GangstaBet NFTs. Players will need GangstaBet of Level 6 or higher to participate in the tournament using NFTs to maintain a good gameplay experience for everyone.
Be on the lookout on our social media before the tournament to secure a Tournament Pass for yourself.
On joining, players will be airdropped with some weapons, items, and sneak moves to prepare for the tournament.
Team Selection
Once the registration phase is complete, the team selection stage begins. Players can pick their team of 5 players on the website.
You can be a part of Discord to talk to other players and see if there is any team you would like to join. During this selection period, players can switch teams if they change their minds.
If players do not choose a team within this duration, they will be randomly assigned to a team.
After the teams have been finalized, players can edit their load-outs (with weapons, items, and sneak moves) and prepare for the war.
Group Stage
After the teams are locked in, there will be a day of preparation time for people to equip their characters. After this, the Group Stage starts.
All the teams will compete to get to the top 16 of the qualifying table (the Bracket).
Each team plays 6 matches with random opponents which determine their ranks based on their wins, kills and the damage taken (in the same order).
The players can prepare for all the matches from the matches tab in their dashboard.
Throughout the group stage, a leaderboard will keep track of each team’s performance, recording wins, kills, and damage dealt. At the end of this stage, the top 16 teams will qualify for the bracket stage.
25% of the prize pool will be distributed among the qualifying 16 teams.
Bracket Stage
The Bracket Stage is the tournament's final phase, featuring a double elimination bracket where the top 16 teams from the previous stage will fight their way to the winning prize.
This round starts with a seeding round, winners of this stage will move on to the upper bracket while the losers will go on to the lower bracket. All the matches can be followed in the Bracket.
Here, unlike in the group stage, the player will only know who they will be fighting against once other matches conclude, thus the players will have to equip their loadout for each game and stay on top of what is happening.
The remaining prize pool (75% of the Total Prize Pool) will be distributed among the top three teams:
- 1st position: 37.5% of the prize pool
- 2nd position: 22.5% of the prize pool
- 3rd position: 15% of the prize pool
